AZM 3: Behind the Scenes
In October, 2009, Gary Lester completed production in Florida as a second unit director for ASTRO ZOMBIES M3 Cloned. He also worked in Las Vegas during post-production as an assistant editor.
In addition, Lester is the FX artist who created the fiery explosions seen in many of the action sequences of the movie.

Legendary Hollywood producer/director Ted V. Mikels personally selected the Daytona Beach filmmaker to head up the Florida cast and crew for scenes filmed in central Florida. Ted also used Lester in the post-production phase as an assistant editor and FX artist.

The main location for the full-length feature film is in Las Vegas, Nevada. Other units filmed during October 2009 in California and Florida. Mikels is the film's producer and director.

Mikels created his ASTRO ZOMBIES as early as 1960, but it took several years before he secured funding for the original film, starring John Carradine and Wendell Corey.

Mikels was known in Hollywood for the creative promotional activities surrounding his films. They included having nurses and ambulances available at theaters, should his movies prove to be too frightening to viewers in the audience.
"Those fans who love the Ted Mikels films will be delighted to know that AZM 3: Cloned will have its share of campy moments," chuckled Lester. "It will definitely entertain you."
